Amy Adams in full Amy Lou Adams (born August 20 1974, Aviano Italy) American actress, particularly acclaimed for her critically-acclaimed performance of charming and naive characters. Adams was born in Italy and her father was in the U.S. military and she lived within Castle Rock Colorado as one of seven kids. She started dancing and performing professionally during the late 1990s at Boulder Dinner Theatre, and then the Country Dinner Playhouse. After moving to Minnesota, she took part in a documentary mock-up on beauty pageants titled Drop Dead Gorgeous (1998). Following her debut on screen as a ditzy but good-natured contestant she moved into Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. She was married to the actor Tony Curtis from June 1951 to September 1962 and the mother of Kelly Curtis and Jamie Lee Curtis. Leigh was discovered by actress Norma shearer. She she signed an agreement to work for MGM during the 1940s. Through the years that followed, she appeared in many popular films including Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (1960) as well as Living It Up by Martin & Lewis (a 1955 film).
