Laura Linney's performance of weak but strong characters has helped make her one of the most popular American actors. In the summer, while working at the company of her father Laura Linney was captivated by theatre. Later in her time at Brown University she studied acting and at Juilliard School, after which the career of her choice took off. After graduating from Brown University she started her Broadway debut in the following year. Within two years of that, her first film came out and the next year she made her television debut. Since then she has appeared in a variety of TV productions, films as well as stage productions. There have been numerous awards throughout her career. These include 4 Primetime Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, three Academy Award Nominations, and five Tony Award Nominations. Although she has received numerous accolades, she is still a lover of the theatre, and has appeared on both screen and stage.
